Italian Contest – New Talent
Brief Synopsis:
Into an empty white room, abstracted from everyday time, enter two women, sisters. They are in there to do an experiment, an imagination game, like when they were in their room as children: to go back in time. What is left of the welter of events we go through? What does it mean to be in a relationship, to share? Perhaps an empty room is never really empty.
Director’s Notes:
“”To try meticulously to retain something, to cause something to survive; to wrest a few precise scraps from the void as it grows, to leave somewhere a furrow, a trace.”- Georges Perec.
I imagine the inside of the skull as a labyrinth of rooms. A room for each relationship, with its unresolved knots, memories like a pile of magazines and newspapers. At first they are all empty, then time changes the interior spaces. I chose one of my rooms and entered it.
