Sinopsys:
Between the 1970s and the 1990s, Father Stefano filmed the everyday life of Santa Domenica Vittoria, a small town in the province of Messina where the filmmaker’s family comes from. The discovery of these images prompted Mariafrancesca to pick up the video camera and start a reflection that led her to immerse herself in the everyday life of the place and to grasp the deeper meaning of Father Stefano’s images.

Director’s notes:
In a small town in the province of Messina, I spent every summer since I was a child and it was there that I discovered my passion for cinema. When a family friend showed me the rectory shelf full of videocassettes and films, I had the idea of making a film in which past and present intertwine: we live in a world saturated with images, but 50 years ago, in a small mountain village, it was unthinkable to see and know how to use a movie camera. Father Stefano immortalised everyone, building a true collective historical memory.
