Synopsis:
EVITA a Political Fairy Tale is an entirely new docudrama on the story of Evita Perón, one of the most powerful, controversial, and interesting women of the 20th century. The story takes place in the most politically dramatic and decisive 24 hours of her life. She must appear before her adoring people asking her to run for the vice presidency of Argentina in the next election. Aware that she is close to death, Evita meets with key figures of her rise to power. Fiction segments are supported by historical and political analysis, rare footage, photographs and magazines. Leading experts on Peronism are confronted with the voice of the protagonist, her public speeches and personal memoirs. A fascinating journey into the roots of modern populism.

Director’s notes:
Evita has often been judged and treated, in media narratives, as a sort of Cinderella of the poor. Superficial or derogatory judgment of her figure has also frequently been based on elements of misogyny. After all, how could an unknown former actress aspire to become the shadow-president of an important country?
We want to ask three fundamental questions: what did Eva Perón actually think and want? Who influenced her politics and social action? What are the real events that took place during those years in which she was the protagonist?
Production notes:
The project “EVITA a Political Fairy Tale” is composed of parts of historical reconstruction (fiction), cinematographic footage, journalistic and photographic repertoires, and interviews with experts. Although the creative part is already well-defined, it is still open to possible changes per particular request of the TV channels. TERRA Srl is completing the production development and is looking for production partners, both TV channels and production companies oriented to the high-quality historical docu-drama genre.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Diego D’Innocenzo produced and/or directed over 100 documentaries for Italian and international broadcasters: Nat Geo, Arte, Radio Canada, RTS, YLE, France 3 etc. About historical documentaries, he directed “The Peron Identity” (RAI, REDE GLOBO), wrote subject and screenplay of “Dante’s Divine Politics” (RAI, ARTE, HISTOIRE), the subject of “Leonardo, the man who saved the science” (RAI, FRANCE TV, PBS THIRTEEN USA). He produced and directed three documentaries on the history of ancient science in India for RAI.
