AUTentic and possible
Synopsis:
“AUThentic and possible” is a journey into the lives of Lorenzo, Andrea and Gabriele, three waiters working at Pizzaut, the first pizzeria run by autistic boys. The lives of the three protagonists interweave with those of the final year students of the Sacro Cuore high school who learn the waiter’s job from them, as the last chapter of a school course on diversity, equity and equality.
The film leads to an unexpected role reversal and leaves us with a question: “What does diversity mean today?”

Director’s notes:
I chose to tell this story because I am the mother of dyslexic and with ADHD children. I made a journey of acceptance of my and their characteristics, working on self-esteem and despite the school environment, based on a standard from which they differed, as does their mother.
Through this film I want to contribute to a cultural change in the way a person is defined: no longer ‘normal/different’, but unique, with no terms of comparison to a standard.
Production notes:
The production of the project was supported by the Ministry of Culture – Selective Production and Tax Credit – and by regional contributions from the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, as well as by private sponsors such as BPER Banca and other donations. To spread the values of the project and bring school children to the cinema, an educational Spin-Off project, ‘Unique and that’s it’, supported by the Modena Foundation as well, was developed.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Federika Ponnetti arrives in the world of documentary through an unconventional path: lawyer for 10 years, entrepreneur in Kidswear and, after a Master’s degree in Contemporary Image, goes toward video-art and documentary. AUThentic and Possible is her first feature-length film and Heartbeats at Cretto is the second one, as author, director, producer.
Her first published work, by KochMedia, as author/director, is the DVD Extra content of the 4k restoration of Alberto Sordi’s “Fumo di Londra”.

Zoom is a young production company born to produce out of the box docs and art projects. Its first feature-length doc is ‘AUThentic e possible’, now in post-production, while the art-social “Heartbeats at Cretto” doc won the Ministry of Culture and the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission Development Funds and it is supported by AAMOD, the Municipality of Gibellina, Fondazione Orestiadi, C.R.E.S.M. Ong
From 2021 it is part of the Italian Delegation to the major European co-pro markets.
