‘Listening with the eyes’ is the theme of the 2023 edition

Milan, January 31, 2023. The Visioni dal Mondo International Documentary Festival, the annual appointment with the cinema of reality founded and directed by Francesco Bizzarri and with the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti, returns to Milan from 14 to 17 September 2023.

“Listening with the eyes” is the theme that, in its broadest sense, will accompany the ninth edition of the Festival Visioni dal Mondo; the Festival proves to be a moment of encounter and confrontation for enthusiasts and experts in the field, as well as an appointment with the general public. A moment of analysis on the present and reflection on the future, a time and space in which questions on the most burning topical issues of our world are asked.

“Listening with the eyes” wants to emphasise the etymology of the word listening, i.e. listening attentively, paying attention, observing, perceiving, feeling in order to understand, learn and increase one’s experience.  Every individual, even without being aware of it, when watching a video has this kind of experience and “Listening with the eyes” is an effective synaesthesia to stimulate everyone to tune in their mind, eyes and heart to live intensely and deeply understand documentary films that tell about life, events, changes with a completely free audiovisual language. For a true observer is one who also listens through the eyes.

The calls for entries for the 9th International Documentary Film Festival Visioni dal Mondo will officially open at the end of February. Communication with all the information on how to participate will follow.
