announces the dates of its twelfth edition

 The 12th edition, even richer, more intense, and more engaging,
will take place from September 16 to 20, 2026

Milano, December 10, 2025 – The International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, the annual event dedicated to the cinema of reality, announces the dates of its twelfth edition, scheduled from September 16 to 20, 2026. This edition adds an extra day compared to previous years, designed to offer an even more structured, surprising, and content-rich program.

Founded and directed by Francesco Bizzarri, with the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti, Visioni dal Mondo confirms its role as a key event for the cinema of reality, bringing to Milan stories, perspectives, and languages capable of exploring crucial events, universal values, and the changes in our society.

The 2026 edition introduces an expanded format: five days of screening, meetings and talks, which will encourage an increasingly in-depth exchange among industry professionals and offer the public the opportunity to discover a greater number of works, engaging in dialogue with authors and protagonists of the international documentary scene.

“We chose to expand the 2026 edition of Visioni dal Mondo to give more space to the voices, ideas, and stories that the Festival has offered every year for twelve years,” emphasizes Francesco Bizzarri, founder and director of Visioni dal Mondo. “This choice rises from the desire to enhance a continuously growing program that manages to renew and surprise every year, while simultaneously supporting the audiovisual industry, dialogue, and collaboration among directors, producers, and industry professionals”.

Visioni Incontra, the business section dedicated to the industry world, curated by Cinzia Masòtina, Head of Industry, will be held on September 16 and 17. Pitching, networking meetings, workshops, and presentations will reinforce Milan’s role as a reference point for Italian and international documentary cinema.

The twelfth edition will take place entirely within the Teatro Litta complex, engaging its various spaces to create a true cultural hub in the heart of Milan. The organizers are already working to build an extraordinary schedule: an intense and contemporary edition where the cinema of reality comes alive to tell stories that speak to everyone.
