The 5th International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, Immagini dalla Realtà will be held in Milan, 12 – 15 September 2019.

Two locations have been chosen by the Festival for the fifth edition: the Litta Theater, one of the most significant works of Milan architecture, and the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology, the largest museum of science and technology in Italy and one of the most important in Europe and in the world, already home to one of last year’s section.

The directors are already at work on the program of the new edition. The main sections for 2019 : the competitive section “Stories from the contemporary world”, core of the Festival, aimed at young Italian independent filmmakers, the International Panorama section with Italian premieres of a selection of the most recent and awarded documentaries, and the non competitive Italian Panorama section.

Confirmed also” Visioni Incontra” the Industry Forum, aimed only at the Industry professionals who have been acrredited. The Industry Forum, which has now become an awaited event, highly appreciated by the market, will take place at Litta Theater, in the first two days of the Festival, on the 12th and 13th of September, in front of a group of professionals, such as broadcasters, theater’s circuits, platforms, independent producers, distributors, acquisition managers, sales agents and festival directors. A few selected projects will be presented to the professionals interested in contributing to their final development with funding, pre-acquisition, co-production and distribution. The 2018 edition of Visioni Incontra saw the participation of 150 professionals and over 100 one-to-one meetings.

 

The competition “Stories from the contemporary world” dedicated to Italian documentaries’ world premieres with its rules and registration procedures will be released within the month of February on the Festival website www.visionidalmondo.it.

Within the same period also the rules and registration procedures regarding the Industry Forum competition ‘Visioni Incontra’, for the Italian docu projects, will be informed through the site www.visionidalmondo.it.

With the aim of promoting the knowledge and diffusion of the Italian and international feature documentary, the Festival will be open to the public, with free admission for all screenings, master classes, retrospectives and in-depth panels provided for in the program.
