Beyond memory. The creative reuse of archives in documentary cinema

This panel, organized in collaboration with Archivio Luce, will explore the untapped potential of archival materials through case studies and presentations of archival collections, with a focus on their artistic re-semanticization and creative reuse.

Panelists include: Enrico Bufalini, Director of Archivio Luce; Luca Ricciardi, Head of Production and Project Development at AAMOD – Audiovisual Archive of the Workers’ and Democratic Movement; Michele Manzolini, Fondazione Home Movies – National Family Film Archive.

A Night at the Museum. Creative possibilities, productive and distributive synergies between audiovisual media, museums, art centers and fundations.

The panel aims to explore the deep connections between audiovisual content, art, and places of art, investigating opportunities to expand this exchange from a production and research perspective, as well as to reach new audiences and new spaces for engagement. The panel offers a discussion between audiovisual professionals, broadcasters, and representatives from the museum-art system, banks, and foundations, with the goal of identifying new production opportunities, support models, and dissemination strategies.
