Synopsis:
The documentary follows Cristina, a lawyer and passionate snowkiter, who rose from a life-threatening accident in 2017 to a world championship win two years later. It highlights her intense preparation for the Vake, the toughest snowkiting race in Norway, focusing on her training, survival skills and choosing a teammate. Upon arriving in Norway, Cristina’s journey intertwines with the local Sami culture, reflecting shared values of resilience and connection to nature. Facing extreme conditions during the race, Cristina’s story becomes one of endurance, teamwork, and personal growth.

Director’s Notes:
The goal is to build a narrative that allows the viewer to empathically immerse themselves in Cristina’s life. The film focuses on the dualism of her life: on the one hand her rigorous earsional life and on the other her passion for snowkiting which allows her to escape as well as find balance. We intend to show Cristina as a regular person, blessed with extraordinary determination, telling about her struggles, her sacrifices and her moments of joy and ear.
Production Notes:
We would love to connect with producers, broadcasters and VOD platforms or production company with first-hand production experience dealing with sports-themed docs. Most importantly, we are looking for a commission editor.
DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
Lorenzo Castelli is a director and filmmaker with a decade of experience in RAI. He worked on the documentary Tizzo, storia di un grande campione, distributed by Prime Video, covering the role of operator and editor.
