The discovery of a load of lead ingots turns into a journey through time and space in time and
space between archaeology, physics and the future.
Synopsis:
In 1989 one thousand ingots of Roman lead coming from Spain, and now without any trace of radioactivity, are found in Sardinia. This awakens the interest of Ettore Fiorini, an eminent particle physicist: for him it would be very useful to shield the experimental device with which, in the depths of the Gran Sasso, he conducts his research on the origin of matter. It is the beginning of a very particular human and study story. Fiorini meets the archaeologist Donatella Salvi: physics and archaeology come together in an unexpected and fascinating collaboration, a search for fundamental answers.

Director’s Note:
From my first confrontation with the story of this film, I was interested in the intertwining of elements it brings together. Elements that link a specific story to universal questions. It’s a film that requires inspiration, high photographic quality, lightness and precision. The events it narrates refer to a vast time span, to different cultures and disciplines. I will personally and closely follow all the work, taking care to build a film with a strong narrative structure, engaging, original and evocative.
BIOGRAPHY
Alessandro Cattaneo, author, director and cinematographer. He develops a strong interest in anthropological and contemporary issues, and great attention to film quality. Among his works: WIDE BLUE DELIVERY winner of the Best Film Award at Napoli Film Festival, Best Film Award at Visioni sul Territorio and then acquired by Rai for the program ‘Documentari D’autore’; MUTU (2017) acquired by Rsi Switzerland for La2Doc; RES CREATA (2019) winner of the Young Jury Award and Audience Mention at the 5th International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo and finalist at Nastri d’Argento 2021.
